2PLUS2

corks

Vinocor Group developed the 2PLUS2, the most advanced technical wine cork in the world, utilizing the experience and expertise accumulated during years of producing corks.

Single discs on each end of 1+1 corks can cause excessive porosity and vertical migration.  With the 2PLUS2, the discs are cut in a transverse direction, like the tops of natural corks, reducing the possibilities of wine migration. Each end has two different discs, that do not align making them a unique barrier against wine migration.

Unlike other suppliers, Vinocor's 2PLUS2 agglomerated bodies are produced using the block molded process instead of the inexpensive extruded process. The block molded process produces a cork body that out-performs any extrusion produced body in any physical or organoleptic performance criteria.  This superior performance is due to
the high temperatures and pressures used, and the highly complex process of block molding.

Vinocor USA launched the 2PLUS2 just after its own creation.  Now, 5 years later, we are proud that more than 205 million 2PLUS2 corks have been supplied to North
American wineries without a single lot rejection.

It is an important fact that all tests made with GCMS equipment, using the SPME protocol, have resulted in consistent TCA contents less than 2ppt. The Vinocor USA team has performed more than 31,000 soaks with the 2PLUS2 corks and only 11 corks were classified as tainted
