The production of the high end Perfex cork provides us with a bi-product of low grade corks and cork dust with the same sensory quality as the Perfex corks. A simple idea emerged, to pick up the Perfex bi-products and create the next generation of colmated corks, a new colmated cork that combines the low cost of the past with the high performance and quality of the Perfex.

A joint R&D project was started between Vinocor Portugal R&D Department, and our QC teams in the US and France. Two customers, one in California and one in France, tested the corks simultaneously and shared their findings with us for 12 months.

The project was a success and in mid 2005 we started offering, still in limited quantities, the Vinflex cork to local customers. Before the end of 2005 the Vinflex will be available in North-America in any requested quantity.
